The Girl Scout Cookie program is a widely known program spread across the globe. Whether that be by being a Girl Scout, or buying cookies, most people have at least heard of the program.

But most people tend to never look beyond it just being Girl Scouts raising money. For me and my troop, it means so much more.

For me, it means I get to go to Cookie University. Cookie University is an event that girls can go to learn about the cookie program and how to sell Girl Scout Cookies. The older girls go to an overnight event where they learn the more complex parts of the program, like money management and sales techniques. In the morning, we set up stations and teach the younger girls about the cookies program and how to sell effectively. I love this event because I get to hang out with my friends and overall have a good time.

One thing my troop likes to do is go on the cookie rewards trip. Every time a girl from a troop sells a box of cookies, the troop gets a part of the money back. If the girls sell enough, that troop can go on a trip. One year, we went to Branson, Missouri. The trip was fun and something my troop often looks back on.

Overall, the cookie program is way more than just girls selling cookies, it is a program that teaches young girls valuable life lessons and lets them have fun at the same time. The program is especially important to me and my troops and with cookie season coming up, I cannot wait for it to start.
